Botched polishing job on BLUE PEARL bullnose edge

Can someone please help with a few questions? The job (Kitchen Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) top) was done at my mother's house by a company near St. Louis, Missouri.

To make a long story short, the edges are DULL, there are a few spots that are a little shiny, they gave her a can of wax and (http://maplered.com) said there is nothing they can do.

She purchased her Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) top through Lowe's who then used one of their contractors which is a large Granite (http://tanbrown.org) works in our area.

The rep from Lowe's admitted she knew nothing about Granite (http://tanbrown.org) but has since "learned" (from guess who?, the company we complained about). She is buying their story, here are some comments made by the shop in question............

1. You can't polish the edges on the blue pearl as well as some other Stone (http://g603.net) s because it is of a higher quality and (http://maplered.com) harder.

2. Dark Colors (http://www.g640.net) don't polish very well.

3. The bullnose edge won't take a polish like a flat edge will.

4. The characteristics of this Stone (http://g603.net) (Blue Pearl, Norway) are the problem.

etc, etc......... Just a big, ever-changing line of excuses.

A couple of the guys they sent out admitted that the company didn't spend enough time on it in the shop, but try getting the owner to say that!

They have come out 5 times to polish it but only allowing their techs 1-2 hours on site, they polish then cover it up with more wax, two days later or sooner it's right back to DULL.

Now, my mother is willing to accept something 'less' than the appearance of the TOP, but they are telling Lowes her 'expectations' are too high and (http://maplered.com) they are not coming back, and (http://maplered.com) honestly there is absolutely NO SHINE in many areas and (http://maplered.com) others are at best lackluster.

Where can we find out more information on the polishing of Granite (http://tanbrown.org) edges and (http://maplered.com) SPECIFICALLY on the characteristics and (http://maplered.com) polishability (not a word, I know) of Blue Pearl from Norway in particular?

The company says we do not understand (http://maplered.com) the process and (http://maplered.com) are walking away, no more fixes, no partial refunds, nothing.

So I am going to educate myself the best I can, then we will escalate the issue to Lowe's corporate management and (http://maplered.com) see if someone will fix this mess. (Unless of course, we are wrong).

Please help.

Thank you,
Darryl Vaughan
